Kaizer Chiefs coach Youssef Ben Youssef has declared his team’s determination to secure a victory against Zamalek in Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup clash.

The South African side will visit the Egyptian giants for the final group-stage match, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.

Speaking on television, Ben Youssef described the encounter as crucial, likening it to a final.

“Saturday’s match in the sixth and final round of the group stage will be extremely challenging and decisive, as it will determine which teams progress,” he said.

He added: “Zamalek are strong contenders for qualification, and we share similar chances. We have analyzed their strengths and weaknesses and aim to be at our best while hoping for a bit of luck.”

Highlighting his squad’s inexperience at this level, Ben Youssef noted, “Over 80% of our players are competing in the Confederation Cup for the first time. Our group has been tough, with challenging matches against Zamalek and Al-Masry. Despite that, we’ve collected 10 points, and we are striving to confirm our place in the next round. I believe our performances merit advancement.”

The coach concluded by emphasizing the importance of a positive result, stating, “We will continue to fight and hope to come away with at least a point from this match.”
