Zamalek general head coach Ibrahim Salah has expressed his appreciation to the club’s supporters and management after his side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.

Speaking after the match, Salah acknowledged the difficulty of the encounter and stressed the importance of the result ahead of the return leg in Cairo.

“We knew the match would be difficult because it was against a strong opponent,” he said. “Zamalek managed to score in the first leg and achieve victory, and there is still another leg in Cairo. We look forward to winning the return match and confirming qualification.”

The Zamalek coach also praised the depth in his squad, particularly highlighting the quality of his goalkeeping department.

“We have outstanding goalkeepers at the highest level, and any goalkeeper who participates is capable of shining and protecting the team’s goal,” he added.

Zamalek’s narrow win at the Nelson Mandela Stadium gives them a crucial advantage heading into the decisive second leg, where they will aim to book a place in the final.

The return fixture is scheduled for next Friday at Cairo International Stadium, where the Egyptian giants will look to complete the job in front of their home supporters.
