CAF Champions League: Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurčić anticipates tough test in crucial return clash against FAR Rabat
Head coach of Pyramids FC, Krunoslav Jurčić, has emphasized the difficulty of the upcoming match against Moroccan side FAR Rabat in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.
The Egyptian outfit, who are the reigning champions will play host to FAR Rabat, with victory crucial to securing a place in the semifinals following a 1-1 draw in the first leg encounter in Morocco.
At a pre-match conference, the Croatian tactician expressed that the side must approach the game as a completely new encounter, stressing the necessity of securing a victory to guarantee qualification for the CAF Champions League semifinals.
He pointed out that reaching this stage of the continental competition is a significant achievement, but emphasized that maintaining this level and competing for the title requires double the effort and intense focus from all the players.
The Croatian coach also explained that his team is suffering from fixture congestion, questioning why Pyramids FC is playing an Egyptian Cup match between the two legs, considering it an additional burden on the players and a negative impact on their readiness.
Jurcic confirmed that he is forced to make numerous changes to the lineup continuously to avoid fatigue, noting Walid El Karti’s absence due to injury, while the rest of the team is fit and available.
Meanwhile, Juric has emphasized his confidence in his players, including Fiston Mayele, asserting that he will return strongly in the coming period. He also expressed his great respect for the Royal Army team and Moroccan football, without this changing his stance.
