RS Berkane head coach Mouin Chaabani has leaned on his extensive CAF Champions League pedigree as the Moroccan side prepare for a high-stakes semifinal showdown against domestic rivals AS FAR.

The encounter represents a historic moment for RS Berkane, who are competing at this stage of the competition for the first time.

Despite the magnitude of the occasion, Chaabani has urged calm and belief within his squad, pointing to his own success on the continental stage as a source of guidance.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Tunisian coach said:

“It is true that this is Berkane’s first [Champions League] experience, the first time in the semifinals. I can help share some of my experience.

“I used to play for a big club, Esperance de Tunis. I played a lot in the Champions League, I also won the Champions League with them twice as a coach.

“I can help, with my little bit of experience, these players who have a lot of ambition, and may the dream continue, God willing.”

Chaabani’s remarks reflect both reassurance and ambition as Berkane navigate uncharted territory in the tournament.

With his background at Espérance de Tunis, where he lifted the continental title twice as coach, he brings a proven winning mentality into a squad eager to make its own history.

The all-Moroccan semifinal adds further intensity, with AS FAR standing between Berkane and a place in the final of Africa’s premier club competition, the CAF Champions League.

As kickoff approaches, Chaabani’s message is clear: experience matters, but belief may matter just as much.

Kick off for the game is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
