CAF Champions League: Moroccan duo Reda Tagnaouti and Mouhcine Bouriga back in Wydad squad for Pyramids clash

AS FAR are set to welcome Egyptian side Pyramids FC to the Stade Olympique de Rabat for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The Royal Army club has received a significant boost in preparations for the high-stakes clash, with key players expected to return to action.

Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos welcomed the participation of first-choice goalkeeper Reda Tagnaouti and midfielder Mouhcine Bouriga in the final group training sessions ahead of the match.

Both players had been absent from several league fixtures, particularly Bourika, making their availability for the continental encounter a significant morale boost for the team.

The technical staff are awaiting official clearance from the club’s medical team before confirming their inclusion in the Champions League squad.

The match, scheduled for Friday, March 13, will be held behind closed doors following a sanction imposed on AS FAR by the Confederation of African Football.

Despite the absence of spectators, the club hopes the return of Tagnaouti and Bourika will strengthen the team’s chances against the visiting Egyptians in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
