CAF Champions League: Maniema Union and FAR Rabat settle for draw

Congolese outfit Maniema Union were held to a 1-1 draw in matchday three of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

The highly competitive clash held at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte ended in a scoring draw.

The home team opened the scoring in the 37th-minute mark through Exaucia Moanda following Basiala Amongo’s assist. They went to the halftime break with the advantage.

However, the Moroccan powerhouse staged a comeback to snatch a crucial away point in Congo.

Angola international To Carneiro level the score in the 62nd-minute, assisted by Mohamed Rabie Hrimat. And with no additional goal, the much-anticipated clash ended in a stalemate.

Maniema Union has yet to win or lose a game after three matches in their group. They have managed three draws from the initial three games.

FAR Rabat, on the other hand, has recorded one win and two draws in their first three games. With five points, the Moroccan powerhouse sit top of Group B.
