The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the host countries and dates for the 8th edition of the Championship of Nations (CHAN).
The tournament, which will feature only players who play in domestic leagues within Africa, will take place from February 1 to 18, 2025, in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
CAF president Patrice Motsepe made the announcement during a press conference following the executive committee meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, earlier today.
The qualifiers for the 2024 CHAN tournament will begin between October 21 and 27, 2024.
Senegal, the reigning champions after their victory in Algeria in 2023, will aim to defend their title.
The Teranga Lions beat the hosts after post-match penalty shootouts at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Algiers to lift the coveted trophy.
The tripartite hosting of the tournament will serve as a dress rehearsal for the three nations as they prepare to jointly host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
