Among the Algerian officials chosen are two women and one man.
Ghada Mehat has been appointed as a match referee, while Asma Feriel will serve as an assistant referee.
Meanwhile, Lahlou Benbraham has been assigned to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team.
Their selection highlights Algeria’s growing presence in officiating at the continental level.
CAF’s extensive selection process
In total, CAF’s Referees Committee has selected 64 officials for the tournament.
This group includes referees, assistant referees, VAR officials, technical instructors, and other members of the refereeing staff.
The team will be led by Ivorian referee expert Noumandiez Désiré Doué.
A key tournament in youth football
The U17 AFCON serves as a crucial competition for the development of young footballers across Africa, as well as an opportunity for referees to showcase their abilities on an international stage.
The inclusion of Algerian officials further strengthens the country’s reputation in African football officiating.
With preparations underway, all selected referees will undergo extensive training to ensure the highest standards of officiating at the tournament.
