Bursaspor linked with move for Guingamp striker Louis Mafouta

Bursaspor are reportedly exploring a move for Guingamp centre-forward Louis Mafouta as the Turkish side eye attacking reinforcements.

The 31-year-old, who represents both the Central African Republic and France at national level, is currently on the books of Ligue 2 side Guingamp, where he wears the number nine shirt. Reports on 14 May 2026 have linked him with a switch from Brittany to Bursaspor, who compete in Türkiye’s 2. Lig Kirmizi, although the probability of the transfer has been listed only as “?” at this stage.

Mafouta’s current market value is quoted at €1.00m on Transfermarkt, a fee that would make him a relatively low-cost option for the Turkish club. With no publicly listed contract expiry date at Guingamp, there is also speculation that the forward could become a free agent or be available on a cut‑price deal if his situation in France changes.

Born on 2 July 1994 in Beaumont-sur-Oise, the 1.81m right-footed striker has built a reputation as a traditional centre-forward, operating through the middle and leading the line. He is listed primarily as an attacking player in the central role, and his dual nationality – Central African Republic and France – adds to his profile in both European and African markets.

Mafouta has been featuring in Ligue 2 for Guingamp, though full recent match-by-match data – including specific opponents, dates, scorelines and his individual performances – is not detailed in the current report. What is clear is that his performances have been strong enough to draw interest from abroad, with Bursaspor now the latest club credited with monitoring his situation.

Should a move materialise, a switch from France’s second tier to Turkish football could offer Mafouta a fresh platform to reassert his value and potentially reshape the next phase of his career in a new league.
