Burkinabe defender Rachid Barro seals move to Slovak side DAC 1904

Burkinabe U20 international Rachid Barro has completed a move to Slovak top-flight club DAC 1904, signing a two-year deal with an option for a further year.

The highly rated left-back joins the club currently sitting second in the Slovakian championship, marking an important step in his professional career.

Barro, known for his pace and defensive intelligence, will look to make an immediate impact in European football.

The 20-year-old had previously undergone a trial with Latvian outfit Riga FC in January, showcasing his potential on the international stage before securing this move.

His performances with Burkina Faso’s U20 side drew the attention of DAC’s scouts, who see him as a valuable addition to strengthen their defensive options.

Barro’s arrival also represents an important milestone for Burkinabe football, as more young talents from the country continue to make their way into European leagues.

DAC 1904, one of Slovakia’s most competitive clubs, hope his signing will boost their push for domestic success and European qualification.

With a two-year contract in place and an optional extension, the deal offers both the player and the club long-term security.

Barro will now focus on adapting to the Slovak league and competing for a starting role as DAC aim to maintain their strong league position
