Nassim Innocenti has officially signed with Czech top-flight side FK Jablonec, marking the next chapter in the Burkinabe defender’s career.

The club confirmed the deal through its official website and social media platforms, finalising the long-rumoured move after Innocenti’s departure from Slovakian outfit FC Košice.

The 23-year-old central defender, who spent a season and a half in Slovakia, arrives in the Czech Republic with the goal of taking his career to a higher level.

Speaking shortly after the announcement, Innocenti expressed confidence in his decision and a clear desire to challenge himself in a more competitive environment.

“This is definitely a step forward in my career,” he said. “The Slovak league was good, but I believe the Czech league is on another level.

There are a lot of strong teams here, and this move represents progress for me.”

Innocenti had joined FC Košice in 2023, becoming a regular presence in the heart of the defence. His time in Slovakia helped him build a solid reputation as a disciplined and physically strong centre-back.

Now, the move to Jablonec offers him the chance to showcase his abilities in a league considered more demanding both tactically and athletically.

“We’ll see what Czech football is like once I begin training fully with the team and playing in matches,” he added. “I’ve heard the competition here is tough, very demanding in terms of running and intensity, but the quality is high. I think if you can succeed in the Czech league, you can play anywhere in Europe.”

The transition from Slovak to Czech football is often seen as a natural progression for players aiming to climb the ranks in European football.

FK Jablonec, a club with a history of competing near the top of the domestic table and regularly participating in continental qualifiers, provides Innocenti with a platform to continue his development.

According to Transfermarkt, Innocenti currently holds a market value of €200,000. Before his time in Slovakia, he was part of the French club Valenciennes FC, where his annual salary was reported at €19,890.

Though modest in financial terms, Innocenti’s career has been defined more by steady growth and calculated moves rather than high-profile transfers.

Born in France but representing Burkina Faso internationally, Innocenti brings with him a blend of technical grounding and international experience.

His profile aligns well with Jablonec’s recent focus on acquiring young, promising talent with the potential to either contribute significantly on the pitch or attract attention from larger clubs in the future.

With pre-season preparations underway, the focus now turns to how quickly Innocenti can adapt to his new surroundings and integrate into head coach’s tactical system.

FK Jablonec will be hoping his arrival strengthens a defence that will be pivotal to their ambitions for the 2025–26 campaign.

For Nassim Innocenti, the challenge ahead in the Czech First League offers both the test and the opportunity he has been seeking. If his ambition matches his performances, the move to Jablonec could be the next major step in a promising European journey.
