Burkina Faso teenager Latif Ouedraogo joins Rapid 1923 in Genoa loan switch

Burkina Faso left-back Latif Ouedraogo has joined FC Rapid 1923 from Genoa Under-20s on loan until 30 June 2027.

The 18-year-old defender completed the move on 12 August and will continue his career in Romania’s SuperLiga after spending the first part of his senior career in Italy. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the deal.

Ouedraogo, who was born on 23 October 2007, joined Genoa’s Under-20 side from Virtus Francavilla in January 2026. He had moved to Virtus Francavilla from Casarano Youth on a free transfer in July 2025.

The left-footed full-back has featured across youth and senior competitions in Italy. His record includes 10 appearances in Primavera 1, as well as two Serie A appearances, and he also made 18 appearances in Serie D – H, providing one assist.

His move to Rapid 1923 provides a new setting in which to continue playing first-team football, with the Romanian club taking him from Genoa’s youth structure for the 2026-27 season. The loan is scheduled to end on 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Genoa Under-20s.

Ouedraogo’s current market value is listed at €1m, while his preferred position is left-back. He has represented Burkina Faso as his nationality and joins Rapid 1923 as part of the club’s squad for the new campaign.

The transfer adds an Italian-trained defender to Rapid 1923’s squad and gives Ouedraogo his first move outside Italy since beginning his senior career. His previous club, Genoa Under-20s, competes in Primavera 1, while Rapid 1923 play in Romania’s top flight.

Ouedraogo is contracted to remain with FC Rapid 1923 for the duration of the loan, with the agreement running through the end of June 2027. He has now officially completed his switch from Genoa Under-20s to the Bucharest club.
