The Burkina Faso delegation is still facing difficulties reaching Buenos Aires ahead of its meeting with Argentina on 4 October 2026, the Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF) has said.
The team’s original flight, scheduled for 30 September, was cancelled without notice by the charterer. The disruption forced officials to reorganise the delegation’s travel plans as they look for a way to continue the journey to Argentina.
The Ministry of Sports, the FBF and the Burkina Faso embassy in Morocco are working together to assess several possible solutions. The FBF said the limited time available for the trip had also prompted concerns among members of the squad.
Sports Minister Annick Pikbougoum Zingue Ouattara, FBF president Oumarou Sawadogo and Burkina Faso’s ambassador to Morocco, Mamadou Coulibaly, are personally involved in efforts to resolve the situation.
The FBF said it was seeking to protect the Etalons’ participation in the match and would provide further information if there were any significant developments.
