Burkina Faso international Hervé Koffi has officially started his journey with Angers SCO, taking part in his first training session since completing a loan move from RC Lens on July 1, 2025.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper, currently valued at €1.2 million according to Transfermarkt, joins Angers in search of regular playing time and a platform to reignite his career ahead of the new Ligue 2 campaign.
Koffi, who remains under contract with Lens until June 2028, will spend the next three seasons with Angers, with the loan deal stretching until the end of his current contract.
This move marks an important step for Koffi, who has struggled for consistent minutes at Lens but arrives in Angers with a clear mission: to assert himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and provide a solid foundation between the posts as they aim for promotion.
Despite being a new face in the squad, Koffi looked at ease during his initial session, joining up with his new teammates as preseason preparations intensify.
Known for his athleticism and reflexes, the Burkinabe shot-stopper has already attracted attention for his leadership qualities and sharp instincts in goal.
Angers’ technical staff are hopeful that Koffi’s experience and international pedigree—he is a mainstay in the Burkina Faso national team—will prove crucial in the months ahead.
His arrival adds depth and competition to the goalkeeping department and signals the club’s intention to bolster its defensive stability.

Financially, the deal also benefits all parties.
Koffi reportedly earns €720,000 per year in France, equivalent to approximately 468 million FCFA.
The agreement provides him with a long-term platform to develop while giving Angers an experienced figure to lead from the back.
While the full details of the loan structure have not been disclosed, Angers’ decision to commit to a multi-year arrangement with Koffi highlights their confidence in his abilities and his potential to be a cornerstone in their quest for top-flight football.
As preseason continues, all eyes will be on Koffi to see whether he can quickly adapt to his new environment and establish himself as a key figure in the squad.
For the goalkeeper known as “The Stallion” back home, this move represents both a challenge and an opportunity to remind Ligue 2 of his calibre.
