Hervé Koffi has reached an agreement on personal terms with Angers SCO, signalling an imminent departure from RC Lens after a season of limited opportunities.
The Burkina Faso international, who has seen his playing time reduced at Lens, is now poised for a fresh start.
The 27-year-old is understood to have accepted Angers’ contract proposal as the club seeks to reinforce its goalkeeping department following the departure of Yahia Fofana.
Koffi, who previously played for Lille and was loaned out multiple times before joining Lens, has been linked with a move away for several months.
His lack of consistent first-team action during the recent campaign has prompted a search for a club where he can be a guaranteed starter.
Angers, keen to fill the void left by Fofana’s exit, have identified the Stallions goalkeeper as their top target.
Talks between the two parties have advanced quickly, with only Lens’ approval now standing between Koffi and a move to the Ligue 2 outfit.
According to the player’s entourage, discussions between Angers and Lens are expected to begin soon.
While no transfer fee has been reported at this stage, the deal hinges on Lens’ willingness to release the goalkeeper, who still has time remaining on his current contract.
With both clubs yet to finalise negotiations, Angers remain cautiously optimistic that an agreement can be reached without delay.
The move would mark a return to familiar surroundings for Koffi, who previously featured in France’s top flight with Lille, and more recently in Belgium with Charleroi before returning to Ligue 1.

His wealth of international experience with Burkina Faso adds further value for Angers, who aim to compete strongly in the upcoming season.
As Lens prepare to reshape their squad and Angers look to build for the future, Koffi’s potential switch could benefit all parties involved.
For the goalkeeper, the deal represents an opportunity to revive his club career and return to regular action after a challenging year on the sidelines.
