Bukayo Saka thrilled to return to England squad, vows to impress Tuchel

Bukayo Saka has expressed his excitement at returning to the England national team setup under manager Thomas Tuchel after missing recent international windows through injury.

The Nigerian-English forward, who has been a pivotal figure for Arsenal, was named in Tuchel’s 24-man squad for England’s upcoming international fixtures.

The selection came as part of a reshuffled team that notably excluded key players such as Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish.

Saka had missed England’s matches in March and September due to a hamstring problem but has since regained full fitness and returned to club action.

His inclusion marks a welcome return for the winger, who has consistently impressed in the Premier League and is eager to make his mark again on the international stage.

“I’m really happy to be back playing for England. I’ve missed a lot of fixtures under Thomas Tuchel, which I’m not happy with — a lot of them due to injuries,” Saka told reporters.

“I’m really happy that I get a chance to come back to St George’s Park and train with the team, play with the team. I’m looking forward to it.”

The 24-year-old’s return also coincides with a personal milestone. In Arsenal’s recent match against West Ham United, Saka made his 200th Premier League appearance, marking the occasion with a goal — becoming only the second player in history to score in his 200th league game.

Saka’s form and fitness will be crucial for Tuchel’s plans as England aim to maintain momentum heading into the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

His versatility and consistency make him one of the national team’s most valuable assets ahead of the crucial international window.
