Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, has vowed to return stronger after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for at least two months.
The England international, of Nigerian descent, suffered the injury during Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace shortly before Christmas.
Saka was seen leaving the stadium on crutches, sparking fears of a severe setback. Initial assessments by the club’s medical team suggested the possibility of a complete hamstring detachment, a scenario that could have ended his season prematurely.
Fortunately, further scans revealed a muscle tear rather than a detachment. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Saka underwent successful surgery and is expected to be out for “more than two months.”
Breaking his silence after the operation, the 23-year-old winger shared an inspiring message on Instagram, saying:
“The majority see obstacles, but few see the opportunities. Recovery has begun and I’m coming back stronger! Thank you all for your messages.”
This marks the first major injury of Saka’s senior career, a period otherwise characterised by his consistency, resilience, and pivotal role for both Arsenal and the England national team.
He will be missed by Arsenal in the period he will be on the sidelines.
