Bryan Mbeumo remains a key target for Manchester United as the club continues negotiations with Brentford over a potential summer transfer.
Despite making an opening offer ten days ago, which was swiftly rejected, Manchester United are not backing down in their pursuit of the 24-year-old forward.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, discussions between the two Premier League clubs are far from over.
“What I’m hearing at the moment is that the conversations, club to club, Man United-Brentford, is still ongoing, is still underway,” Romano shared on his YouTube channel.
“So, talks are ongoing for this story, talks are ongoing for this deal, but at the moment, we are still waiting for Manchester United to try to reach an agreement on the fee with Brentford. They tried with the first bid, it was 10 days ago, rejected by Brentford.
“Man United remaining in conversations, they are trying to find a way.”
Brentford are believed to be holding out for at least £60 million for Mbeumo, who has also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bryan Mbeumo made 38 appearances, scored 20 goals and assisted seven in the Premier League last season.
