Bryan Mbeumo endures five-match goal drought in Premier League
Forward Bryan Mbeumo has now gone five consecutive Premier League matches without scoring for Manchester United, marking a difficult period for the striker after a promising start to the season.
The Cameroonian international had established himself as an influential figure in Manchester United’s attack earlier in the campaign.
His performances during the first half of the season included several important goals that strengthened his role within the team.
Those displays also generated growing attention ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2026, as the forward continued to demonstrate his ability in front of goal.
After returning from the continental competition, Mbeumo initially appeared to maintain that momentum.
He scored in United’s 2–0 victory against Manchester City, delivering an important contribution in one of the club’s most significant fixtures.
The striker followed that performance with another goal in the 3–2 win over Arsenal FC, reinforcing his reputation as a key attacking presence.
He later added to his tally with a goal against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, 7 February 2026.
That strike brought Mbeumo’s league total to nine goals, confirming his productive start to the campaign.
However, the goals have since dried up.
In recent weeks the forward has been unable to add to his tally despite continuing to feature in Manchester United’s attacking lineup.
The run began during Matchday 26 when United faced West Ham United, followed by another match without a goal in Matchday 27 against Everton FC.
The pattern continued as the striker was unable to score in subsequent games against Crystal Palace in Matchday 28 and Newcastle United in Matchday 29.
The sequence extended further on Sunday, 15 March 2026, when Manchester United faced Aston Villa during Matchday 30.
Once again, Mbeumo was unable to find the net.
The result is a five-match scoring drought for the Cameroonian forward.
For a player who had previously been one of Manchester United’s most reliable attacking contributors this season, the run represents a noticeable dip in form.
Despite the current dry spell, Mbeumo remains a central part of the team’s attacking structure as the Premier League campaign continues
