Bryan Mbeumo has reportedly made his wage demands known to Manchester United, as the Brentford forward eyes a summer move away from the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Cameroonian international, who has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, is understood to be pushing for a significant pay increase before committing to his next destination.
Currently earning around £50,000 per week at Brentford, Mbeumo’s representatives have communicated to suitors that the player is seeking a contract worth £250,000 a week—a fivefold increase.
According to The Times, while several clubs have made contact over his availability, Mbeumo has reportedly prioritised a move to Manchester United, where he hopes to play a central role in the club’s planned rebuild under manager Rúben Amorim.
United, who are expected to refresh their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season, are considering their approach amid what is expected to be a demanding summer transfer window.
Mbeumo’s desire to join the Old Trafford outfit is said to be driven by his interest in Amorim’s tactical project and a belief that he could thrive in the system expected to be deployed by the Portuguese coach.
The 25-year-old has been a standout performer for Brentford since their promotion to the Premier League, often praised for his direct attacking style, versatility across the frontline, and consistent goal contributions.
Brentford are likely to demand a substantial fee for the player, who remains under contract, but negotiations are expected to centre not only on the transfer sum but also on the sizeable personal package Mbeumo is requesting.
