Bryan Mbeumo blown away by Anfield hostility as a Manchester United player
Bryan Mbeumo admits his view of Anfield has completely changed since joining Manchester United, describing the atmosphere against Liverpool as one of the fiercest he has ever faced.
Speaking to French TikTok channel Zack en Roue Libre, the Cameroonian forward contrasted his experiences there with Brentford and now with Manchester United.
“I get asked a lot the question about the stadiums that impressed me the most,” Mbeumo said. “I never said Anfield until I came to Manchester United.” When the host pointed out how different it feels in a United shirt, he didn’t hesitate: “It’s not the same, it’s really not the same.
“You feel, actually, when you go onto the pitch, you feel the hostility, but times ten, times a hundred. You’re the enemy. You feel it, it’s incredible. Score there, incredible. Winning there, honestly, it was beautiful. It was beautiful.”
Mbeumo scored inside the first minute in United’s recent win – their first Premier League victory at Anfield since 2016 – helping set the tone for a performance that fully justified his awe at the stadium’s intensity.
