Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has publicly endorsed Thomas Frank’s ability to succeed at Tottenham, as the forward finds himself at the center of a growing transfer tussle between Manchester United and Spurs.
The Cameroonian international, who flourished under Frank’s management for six years at Brentford, offered glowing praise for his former coach during an interview with Sky Sports in Monaco.
Mbeumo, whose 20-goal Premier League campaign has made him one of the most coveted attackers this summer, spoke warmly about the Danish tactician: “He has done so much for me.
“He trusted me from the start, developed the team so well, developed me as both player and person.”
The 25-year-old added, “He knows everything. He is really smart, knows where he wants to bring the team… I’m sure he is going to do well.”
The heartfelt endorsement comes amid intense speculation about Mbeumo’s future, with Manchester United reportedly confident of securing his signature despite Tottenham’s potential advantage of offering Champions League football and a reunion with Frank.
According to Manchester Evening News, the forward has expressed preference for a move to Old Trafford, where he could partner with Matheus Cunha in revitalizing United’s attack after their dismal 44-goal Premier League campaign.
While Frank’s appointment at Tottenham was seen as potentially swaying Mbeumo’s decision, the player’s comments suggest professional admiration rather than any transfer allegiance.
