Brobbey’s Sunderland future in focus as Como explore Serie A move
Brian Brobbey, the Dutch-Ghanaian forward at Sunderland, has been linked with a move to Como in Serie A.
The 24-year-old joined Sunderland from Ajax for €20m on 1 September 2025 and has a contract with the Premier League club until June 2029. His current market value is listed at €40m.
Brobbey has started both of Sunderland’s Premier League matches this season, playing 131 minutes without scoring or registering an assist. He also made four appearances for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals.
The forward began his senior career with Ajax after progressing through the club’s academy and spent part of the 2021-22 season on loan at RB Leipzig before returning to Amsterdam. He won two Dutch league titles and the Dutch Cup with Ajax.
Como, who play in Serie A, are the club currently linked with Brobbey, although no transfer fee or agreement has been reported. The rumour comes less than a year after Sunderland paid €20m to bring him to England.
Brobbey’s long-term contract means Sunderland remain in a strong contractual position, with the striker currently part of their squad for the 2026-27 Premier League campaign.
