Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion has targeted signing Azzedine Ounahi from Olympique Marseille.
The Morocco midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Greek side Panathinaikos, is seeking regular playing time and has been tipped to leave the French side.
Reports suggest that Ounahi’s excellent performance during the loan period attracted the attention of the Seagulls.
Brighton have already opened negotiations with Ounahi’s representatives in the past few hours, hoping to secure his services this summer, but have not yet contacted Marseille.
This comes as Panathinaikos has a clause allowing it to buy Azzedine Ounahi at the end of his loan period for €11.5 million.
The reports add that the English club has been monitoring the Moroccan star for a long time, particularly after his impressive performance with his country’s national team at the 2022 World Cup.
Azzedine Ounahi scored five times and grabbed four assists in 25 appearances in the Greek topflight last season.
