Brighton and Hove Albion manager Fabian Hürzeler has opened up about the future of Cameroonian youngster Carlos Baleba amid growing summer interest.
The 21-year-old attacker has been one of the most sought-after forwards in the current summer transfer window, with Manchester United and other top clubs expressing firm interest in the striker.
As the window draws to a close, it seems the Seagulls can finally breathe a sigh of relief, with the Premier League outfit ruling a possible summer departure.
According to Hürzeler, the talented forward will remain at Brighton until the end of the transfer window, expressing satisfaction with how the Seagulls have handled their business this summer.
“Yes, he’s staying. If there was a number higher than 100, I’d say more than 100. That’s how incredibly confident I am. Sometimes it’s not very wise to share your feelings with the public, but overall I’m very happy with the squad,” Hürzeler stated.
Baleba joined Brighton in 2020 and has since become an integral member of the team. His current contract with the Premier League club is expected to elapse in summer 2028.
The 21-year-old forward has made four appearances for the Cameroon national team.
