Brest Brilliance: Kamory Doumbia’s Historic Quadruple Ignites Breton Derby

Malian international Kamory Doumbia etched his name into the annals of football history with a remarkable quadruple against Lorient on Wednesday. The Stade Brestois player, relatively unknown for his goal-scoring abilities until now, delivered an extraordinary performance that unfolded in just 26 minutes, leaving fans and football enthusiasts in awe.

Doumbia’s extraordinary feat commenced with a superb volley in the 22nd minute, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening in the Breton derby.

In perfect balance, the 20-year-old midfielder executed a precise right-footed shot, finding the top corner of the opponent’s net. Doumbia continued his goal-scoring spree with a classic one-two play with Satriano, doubling the lead and showcasing his versatility on the field.

The highlight of the evening came in a whirlwind seven-minute sequence, during which Doumbia scored three consecutive goals, completing a hat-trick that featured a deft deflection of a cross from Chardonnet.

The icing on the cake came just before halftime, as Doumbia netted a fourth goal, perfectly positioned at the penalty spot to capitalize on a flawless cross from Del Castillo.

This historic performance catapults Kamory Doumbia into elite company, as he becomes only the second player in the last 60 years to score a quadruple in the first half of a Ligue 1 match.

The last player to achieve this remarkable feat was Edinson Cavani in September 2016 with Paris against Caen.

Remarkably, Doumbia came tantalizingly close to breaking the record for the fastest hat-trick in Ligue 1 history, a record currently held by Loïs Openda and Matt Moussilou at five minutes.

Despite narrowly missing this milestone, Doumbia’s quadruple stands as a historic achievement, elevating him to the forefront of footballing excellence and etching his name in the records of French football.
