Brazil international of Cameroonian descent Vinicius captained Real Madrid for the first time in his career when the team triumphed over Real Sociedad in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey.

In the absence of substantive captains, the pacey winger was appointed to lead the team in the first leg clash of the Cup competition.

Vinicius was pivotal on Wednesday night as Real Madrid inflicted a 1-0 away win over Real Sociedad, thanks to Endrick’s strike.

The reigning FIFA Player of the Year holder joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, initially playing for Castilla, before earning promotion to the senior.

He made his debut for the first team on September 29 and has since established himself as a key member of the squad.

Since joining the club, Vinicius Jnr has made 299 appearances, scoring 102 goals and providing 74 assists across competitions.
