Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz has expressed his excitement after making his international debut for the Morocco national team on Friday during a friendly against Angola.

A David Carmo own goal ensured the Atlas Lions pipped the Palancas Negras in the game at the Grande Stade Adrar in Agadir.

In an anticipated event, Diaz made played his first match for Morocco and lasted for 87 minutes on the pitch until he was substituted by Bilal El Khannous.

After the game, the Spanish-born player expressed his happiness after switching nationality represent the African nation.

“I see how much they love me here. My teammates have been very supportive. I have felt very good, and I am happy for what I have experienced. Happiness is what I feel, and that is all I can say.” Diaz opined after the game.

The former Manchester City and AC Milan player was torn between Spain and Morocco, but he chose to represent the latter.

Brahim was born in Spain to a Spanish mother and Moroccan father. His father, Soufiane Abdelkader Mohand, was born in Melilla, Spain.

Brahim grew up in Málaga in Spain but moved to Manchester, aged 16, after being signed by Manchester City’s youth academy.

He played for Spain for the youth levels, having represented the U17, U19, and U21.
