Bournemouth weigh move for Stade Rennais striker Breel Embolo
Breel Embolo, the Swiss-Cameroonian forward at Stade Rennais, has been linked with a move to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old joined Rennais from Monaco for €13m in September 2025 and has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2029. His current market value is listed at €15m.
Embolo has made six appearances for Switzerland at the 2026 World Cup, scoring twice and providing two assists. He started all six matches and played 84% of the available minutes, contributing to 29% of his side’s goals.
The centre-forward has scored 27 goals in 97 Ligue 1 appearances during his career, alongside 32 goals in 136 Bundesliga games. His previous clubs include Monaco, Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke 04 and Basel.
The potential move would see Embolo return to a league in which he has not previously played, with Bournemouth exploring an attacking addition from the French top flight. No transfer fee or probability has been established for the proposed switch.
Embolo remains a Stade Rennais player under a long-term contract, with the rumour indicating a possible move to Bournemouth rather than a completed transfer.
