English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have decided against releasing Eli Junior Kroupi for the upcoming France U21 training camp ahead of the 2025 U21 European Championship.
The French FA has confirmed this in a statement.
Eli Junior Kroupi, 18, topped Ligue 2’s goalscoring charts with Lorient this season and earned his first-ever call-up by France U21 manager Gérard Baticle for a training camp ahead of the Euros.
Because the tournament is not part of the FIFA calendar, clubs are allowed to pull their players out of the squad.
AFC Bournemouth have decided to pull out their striker and do not expect Eli Junior Kroupi to join the France U21 training camp.
Meanwhile, the likes of Arnaud Kalimuendo and Jérémy Jacquet have also been blocked by their club, Stade Rennais, from joining the training camp.
Lille OSC have also pulled Ayyoub Bouaddi out.
Other players are expected to be invited to fill in the void left by these players in the France U21 national team.
