Boulkassoum Diarra makes Morocco switch as Difaa El Jadida sign Mali defender

Mali centre-back Boulkassoum Diarra has joined Moroccan club Difaa El Jadida from Djoliba AC for €112,000.

The 23-year-old completed the move on 30 August 2026, switching from Malian football to Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi. Diarra becomes a new defensive option for Difaa El Jadida after spending the previous two seasons with Djoliba, where he established experience in African club competition.

Diarra played 11 matches in the CAF Confederation Cup, recording 580 minutes, and also made one appearance in the CAF Champions League. His continental involvement represents the most prominent part of his recorded senior career and provides the context for his move to a club competing in Morocco’s top-flight structure.

The defender is 1.90m tall and naturally right-footed. He has been listed as a centre-back throughout his career, with his physical profile and established role in central defence shaping his move to Difaa El Jadida.

Before joining Djoliba, Diarra spent five years with Real, arriving there on 1 July 2019. He left Real for Djoliba on 1 July 2024, before completing his latest transfer to Difaa El Jadida at the start of the 2026-27 season.

Diarra’s move takes him outside Mali for the first time in his recorded club history. His arrival also links a player with experience of both the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League to a Moroccan club, following his involvement in continental fixtures with Djoliba.

Difaa El Jadida have secured the Mali international’s services in a deal worth €112,000, with the transfer formally completed on 30 August.
