Head coach Patrice Carteron has spoken candidly about the emotional state he encountered upon arriving at Wydad Athletic Club, revealing that the squad was weighed down by disappointment.

The French tactician admitted that he found a sense of sadness and frustration within the group, largely stemming from the team’s exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Carteron explained that his immediate priority was to lift the players’ spirits and rebuild their competitive edge after the setback.

He noted that there has since been a noticeable improvement in the atmosphere within the squad, with players showing renewed determination and a strong desire to return to winning ways.

Wydad will look to carry that positive momentum into their upcoming clash against FUS Rabat, scheduled for Friday evening at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in a postponed Matchday 10 fixture.
