The Ethics Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has issued a warning to Zakaria Aboub, head coach of Olympique Safi, following incidents that occurred during his side’s encounter with Wydad Athletic Club.
In a statement addressing a series of disciplinary matters, the committee announced several sanctions and financial penalties involving officials from Wydad Athletic Club, Maghreb Fez and Olympique Safi. The decisions stem from various breaches recorded during recent competitions and related activities.
The committee opted to issue a formal warning to Aboub after verbal altercations between him and Idriss Saissi Hosni, the physical trainer of Wydad Athletic Club.
The incident took place during the match between Olympique Safi and Wydad as part of the eighth round of the INWI 1 Professional Championship, played on November 9, 2025.
Idriss Saissi Hosni was also handed a warning for his involvement in the same exchange with the Olympique Safi coach during the match, with the committee stressing the need for discipline and professionalism on the technical bench.
Beyond the events of that fixture, the Ethics Committee imposed further sanctions on other officials. Hassan Abidat, a member of Olympique Safi, received a one-year suspension from all football-related activities, with six months of the ban suspended, in addition to a fine of 20,000 dirhams.
The punishment followed statements he made to several media outlets in which he accused match officials of lacking integrity.
The committee also warned Hicham Chakour, the former president of the Maghreb Fez sports association, and fined him 30,000 dirhams for breaching regulatory provisions linked to the performance of his duties within the club.
A similar decision was taken against Abdelghani Labied, an administrator at Maghreb Fez, who was issued a warning alongside a fine of 20,000 dirhams for violations related to administrative responsibilities.
In a separate development, the suspension previously imposed on Ismail Bouhaj, a member of Raja Beni Mellal, was lifted after he appeared before the Ethics Committee following an earlier failure to do so.
The committee indicated that a decision regarding the complaint filed against him would be announced at a later date.
