Borussia Dortmund receive major boost as Felix Nmecha returns for Frankfurt clash
Borussia Dortmund have received a timely boost ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga showdown against Eintracht Frankfurt with the return of several key players to the squad.
Head coach Niko Kovač will once again be able to rely on Niklas Süle, Karim Adeyemi and Felix Nmecha after the trio were included in the travelling squad ahead of the home fixture at the Signal Iduna Park.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the players travelled with the team to the match hotel, giving Dortmund a significant lift before what is expected to be an emotional evening in front of the club’s supporters.
The squad for the match also includes Gregor Kobel, Nico Schlotterbeck, Julian Brandt, Marcel Sabitzer, Salih Özcan, Serhou Guirassy and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens among others.
Friday’s encounter will also serve as a farewell occasion for several important figures at the club. Süle, Özcan, and Brandt are all expected to leave Dortmund at the end of the season when their contracts expire, while former sporting director Sebastian Kehl will also be honoured before the match.
