Borussia Dortmund is already laying the groundwork for next season, and securing Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent deal has become a top priority.
The Chelsea loanee has impressed the club despite dealing with injuries, making him a key target for the Bundesliga side.
According to Bild, Dortmund views Chukwuemeka as a crucial part of their squad moving forward. His performances have left a lasting impression, and the club is eager to finalize a deal that would keep him beyond his loan spell.
Chukwuemeka, born in Austria to Nigerian parents, is eligible to represent Austria, England, and Nigeria at the international level. After making two appearances for England’s U17 national team, he earned a call-up to the U18 squad and made his debut on March 29, 2021, in a 2–0 victory over Wales.
Dortmund’s focus on strengthening their squad for the 2024/25 season is in full swing, and securing Chukwuemeka permanently would be a significant step in their rebuilding efforts.
