Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for the acquisition of Morocco international Eliesse Ben Seghir in the current transfer window.
The German giants are executing an aggressive effort to bolster their squad for the 2025/26 football campaign, which kick start next weekend.
The race to sign Ben Seghir from Monaco is heating up, with Dortmund emerging as the latest club to express huge interest in the attacker.
Fellow Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen hold a strong interest in the forward and have seen a €25m bid rejected. The Principality club has not opposed the sale of the attacker, setting up a €35m price tag.
Leverkusen see Ben Seghir as the ideal candidate to replace Amine Adli, who is on the verge of completing a move to Bournemouth.
However, Leverkusen face competition from domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund, who have contacted Monaco in the past few hours to express interest in the Morocco youngster.
Ben Seghir, who came off the bench during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Le Havre AC, has a contract that runs until 2027.
