Julian Ryerson is doubtful for Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga meeting with Werder Bremen on Friday after suffering a rib injury while on international duty with Norway.
The 28-year-old defender was withdrawn after only 16 minutes of Norway’s 2-1 defeat by Wales last week and subsequently left the national squad early.
German reports suggest Ryerson could miss the match at Signal Iduna Park, although the injury is not expected to keep him out for an extended period.
Ryerson has established himself as an important option on Dortmund’s right side. If he is unavailable, the club may need to alter its defensive formation, with Maximilian Beier among the possible replacements.
Beier could be deployed as a right wing-back if Ryerson is not passed fit.
