Bordeaux Captain Lamine Sané Faces Surgery, Set to Miss a Month
Bordeaux captain and Senegalese international Lamine Sané is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury that requires surgery. The defender, a key figure under coach Willy Sagnol this season, has featured in six Ligue 1 matches so far.
According to regional publication Sud Ouest, Sané’s injury will keep him out of action for approximately a month as he recovers from the necessary operation.
His absence opens the door for Liverpool loanee Tiago Ilori, who could see increased playing time in Bordeaux’s defence during Sané’s recovery period.
