The Black Galaxies of Ghana delivered a commanding performance in their international friendly against the Squirrels of Togo, claiming a decisive 2-0 win at the Stade de Kégué.

The match served as a crucial preparation for Ghana ahead of their much-anticipated CHAN qualifier against Nigeria.

From the opening whistle, Ghana established control, making their intentions clear with an aggressive start.

Amoah Albert opened the scoring just three minutes into the match.

A swift and fluid exchange of passes in midfield left Togo’s defense flat-footed, as Albert confidently struck the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

The early goal injected energy into the Ghanaian side, setting the tone for a dominant first half.

Togo, eager to respond, launched a series of attacks focused on exploiting space along the flanks.

Their wide players worked tirelessly to deliver crosses into the box, but Ghana’s defensive structure proved impenetrable.

Led by their composed and tactical captain, Ghana’s backline displayed exceptional organization, effectively neutralizing the hosts’ advances.

Time and again, the Squirrels were denied any clear-cut chances as Ghana’s defenders maintained their focus and discipline.

The Black Galaxies doubled their lead in the 27th minute with a moment of brilliance.

A perfectly weighted through ball from midfield pierced Togo’s defensive line, finding Yakubu Issah in stride.

Timing his run to perfection, Issah exploited the offside trap and faced the goalkeeper with poise.

With a composed finish, he slotted the ball neatly into the net, showcasing Ghana’s sharpness in the attacking third.

The goal underscored the visitors’ clinical efficiency and tactical awareness.

Togo’s frustration grew as their attempts to recover before halftime were repeatedly stifled by Ghana’s resolute defending and stellar goalkeeping.

Ghana’s ability to manage the game with composure became increasingly evident, leaving Togo with limited opportunities to shift momentum.

By the halftime whistle, the Black Galaxies had established themselves firmly in control, brimming with confidence and demonstrating their readiness for upcoming challenges.

The second half brought renewed efforts from the Squirrels as they pushed forward in search of a breakthrough.

Former Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino presented a rare threat with a close-range effort, but Ghana’s goalkeeper responded with a vital save.

Moments later, Togo’s Thilo Kehrer came close with a header from a free kick, narrowly missing the target.

Despite their determination, the hosts were unable to capitalize on these fleeting opportunities.

Throughout the match, Ghana showcased an impressive ability to manage the tempo and adapt to Togo’s strategies.

Even as the Squirrels sought to exploit defensive gaps, the Black Galaxies remained composed, effectively closing down spaces and maintaining control.

Their disciplined approach ensured there were no late-game surprises, solidifying the victory as the final whistle blew.

This win not only bolsters Ghana’s morale but also sends a strong statement ahead of their CHAN qualifier against Nigeria.

The Black Galaxies demonstrated a well-rounded performance, combining defensive resilience with attacking precision.

Key players like Amoah Albert and Yakubu Issah stood out, while the entire squad’s cohesion highlighted their preparedness for high-stakes matches.

For Togo, the loss represents a missed opportunity to leverage their home advantage and test their strategies against a formidable opponent.

As they reflect on this performance, the Squirrels will need to regroup and address the shortcomings that hampered their effectiveness.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s focus now shifts to their fierce rivalry with Nigeria, a contest that promises to be a thrilling encounter on the road to CHAN qualification.
