The international Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng, a key player for Al Ahly, is reportedly on the verge of departing the Red Castle in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Dieng’s name has been linked to a potential move to the Qatari Stars League, specifically to Qatar SC, as revealed by Qatari newspaper “Al Raya.”
A source within Al Ahly confirmed to “Yalla Koura” on Wednesday that the Red Castle’s administration does not object to the 26-year-old’s departure, provided they receive a fee of four million dollars.
The Al Ahly management believes that compensating for the departure of the Malian star, who has been with the Cairo-based team since 2019, following his transfer from MC Alger, will not pose a significant challenge.
In the following report, “Yalla Koura” highlights young talents that Al Ahly might consider to replace Aliou Dieng:
1. Daniel Daja – Nigerian Talent
– A 16-year-old Nigerian talent, Daniel Daja, has emerged on the Nigerian football scene as part of the Enyimba team, currently loaned from FC One Rocket.
– Daja, valued at €150,000 according to “Transfermarkt,” showcased his skills in the African League against Wydad Casablanca.
2. Mohammed Zougrana – Ivorian Midfielder
– Mohammed Zougrana, a 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder formerly with ASEC Mimosas and currently playing for MC Alger, has been previously associated with a move to Al Ahly.
– Although negotiations did not progress to formal discussions between the Red Castle and ASEC Mimosas, Zougrana expressed his desire to join Al Ahly, praising the club’s stature.
3. Abdullah Haimoud – Moroccan Midfielder
– Abdullah Haimoud, a midfielder for Wydad Casablanca, could be an option as his contract with the Moroccan club expires at the end of the current season.
– The Red Castle might seize the opportunity to reinforce its ranks with the 24-year-old Moroccan, given the administrative and performance challenges facing Wydad this season.
While Liverpool and other European clubs, such as Watford and AC Milan, reportedly keep an eye on Nigerian talent Daniel Daja, the executive director of Al Ahly’s football department, Amir Tawfik, has initiated negotiations with the player, who has expressed preliminary interest in a move to Europe.
The potential acquisition of Daja could present an optimal solution for Al Ahly, both financially and in terms of securing a spot for a young player in the first team.
As the winter transfer window approaches, football enthusiasts eagerly await Al Ahly’s official announcement, anticipating the dawn of a new era for the club.
