Betis Seville face FC Porto in first-ever meeting as Champions League campaign continues

Betis Seville host FC Porto in the second matchday of the Champions League on Wednesday, with the Spanish side aiming to build on their opening victory at Lille and the Portuguese visitors seeking their first points of the competition.

The match will be played at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.

In France, the game will be shown on Canal+. UK viewers can watch on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and HBO Max. Movistar+ will broadcast the match in Spain, while DAZN will carry it in Germany.

Coverage in Italy will be available through Sky and Amazon Prime Video. In Belgium, the broadcasters are RTL, VTM, Proximus and Play Sports, while Ziggo Sport will show the match in the Netherlands.

Viewers in Portugal can watch on Sport TV or DAZN. In the United States, the available broadcasters are Paramount+, TUDN and DAZN. beIN Sports holds the rights in the Middle East and North Africa, while SuperSport, Canal+ Afrique and New World TV will provide coverage in sub-Saharan Africa.

An unprecedented contest

Betis Seville and FC Porto have never previously met in an official match. Wednesday’s fixture will therefore be the first competitive encounter between the two clubs, with both sides looking to establish an early advantage in the new head-to-head.

Betis Seville go into the game with considerable momentum. Manuel Pellegrini’s side began their Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win at Lille and have also made an impressive start in La Liga, where they are unbeaten in their past five matches.

Their latest result was a convincing 5-2 victory over Osasuna at the weekend, further underlining the Andalusian club’s strong run of form ahead of their first European home game of the campaign.

FC Porto’s domestic record is even stronger. The Portuguese team have won all eight of their league matches so far this season, but their Champions League opener ended in disappointment as they lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City.

Porto will need to be more clinical in Seville if they are to leave Spain with a positive result and avoid falling further behind in the competition.

Prediction and match odds

Betis Seville are marginal favourites because of their recent results and home advantage, although FC Porto have enough quality to make the contest difficult. The estimated probability of a home win is 46%.

Africafoot’s prediction is a 2-1 victory for Betis Seville.

The listed odds are 2.12 for Betis Seville to win, 3.80 for a draw and 3.30 for an FC Porto victory.
