Bertrand Traore: Trabzonspor linked with move for Burkina Faso winger after Sunderland exit
Burkina Faso winger Bertrand Traore, currently without a club after leaving Sunderland, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
Traore became a free agent on 1 July following the end of his spell at Sunderland, opening the door for a potential free transfer to the Black Sea club. His current market value is estimated at 4m.
The 30-year-old left-footer, who stands at 1.81m, is primarily a right winger and would add top-level experience in Turkey following previous stints in England, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
Traores career has taken in spells at Aston Villa and Sunderland in the Premier League and Championship, Villarreal in La Liga, Ajax and Vitesse in the Eredivisie, and Lyon in Ligue 1, giving him a broad grounding across Europes major competitions.
His stock peaked during his time at Lyon and Aston Villa, where his market value reached 20m in 2021, before gradually declining in recent seasons as he moved between clubs and leagues.
The Burkinabe international most recently saw his value updated while at Sunderland in June 2026, reflecting his current 4m valuation despite his free-agent status.
Trabzonspors interest comes as the Super Lig side assess attacking reinforcements, with Traores availability on a free transfer making him a potentially cost-effective option.
No agreement is in place and the situation remains at the rumour stage, with Trabzonspor monitoring the possibility of signing Traore as a free agent.
