Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile has expressed his delight at the vibrant atmosphere generated by English football, particularly highlighting the fervent support of the Chelsea fans. The French defender, now in his second season with the Blues, shared his observations on the distinct and passionate crowd engagement in English stadiums.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Badiashile acknowledged the unique atmosphere that English football enthusiasts bring to the game.
“The atmosphere at games here is really nice. The fans are really behind us, and we feel it when we play at Stamford Bridge, and even when we play away. It makes you want to give everything for them,” he remarked.
The 21-year-old defender contrasted the English football experience with that of France, emphasizing the noticeable differences in crowd reactions.
Badiashile was particularly struck by the enthusiastic response from fans to impactful moments on the pitch. “It’s not the same as in France. Here, when you do a good tackle, all the crowd are like, ‘Aahhhh!'” he said.
“I was shocked the first time I heard this, for me it was something crazy! Just one tackle and all the crowd is up! It was really nice, though.”
Recalling a standout moment, Badiashile cited the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Newcastle as a testament to the incredible support from Chelsea fans.
“The fans were really great that night,” he added. “When Petro saved the last penalty… woah… that was something crazy. Even when Misha scored the goal, it was great.”
The Frenchman’s comments underscore the impactful role fans play in creating an electric atmosphere during matches, contributing to the unique charm of English football.
