Similar to Senegal, Benin is diligently preparing for its upcoming participation in the UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union) football tournament. The squad of 30 Squirrels commenced their training on Monday at the Friendship Stadium in Cotonou, led by the coaching tandem of Moussa Latoundji and Eustache d’Almeida. During their preparation, the players received a visit from Augustin Ahouanvoebla, the new president of the Benin Football Federation (FBF).
Moussa Latoundji shared insights into the challenges of resuming training after a five-month break following the conclusion of the national championship. Despite the difficulties, the coaching staff is focusing on physical conditioning and technical-tactical aspects. The final squad list will be announced by Friday, with approximately eight to ten players set to be selected from the current group.
The UEMOA tournament, whose draw was conducted in September, is scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 2 in Abidjan.
