The Belgian Football Federation made an early decision regarding the future of the national team’s head coach, Marc Wilmots. On Tuesday, Wilmots himself announced via Twitter that he had agreed to a four-year contract extension.
“An agreement for four years as federal coach! Want to continue the great story with my group, my staff and the supporters!” tweeted Marc Wilmots.
Steven Martens, president of the Belgian Federation, also expressed his satisfaction with the decision, highlighting the qualities that Wilmots brings to the team.
“Our coach, Marc Wilmots, re-signs for four years! I am delighted with this guarantee of continuity, quality, passion and leadership,” Martens commented on Twitter.
At 45 years old, Wilmots has been serving as the coach of the Belgian national team since 2012, and this extension ensures continuity and stability for the team moving forward.
