Marc Wilmots is making changes to the technical staff of the Belgian national team. He has recently dismissed Philippe Vande Walle (goalkeeper coach), Eric Roux (physical trainer), Michael Ruysseveldt (driver), and now Wim Casteleyn, the head chef of the Red Devils.
Casteleyn, who had been in his position for 14 years, expressed his disappointment in the Belgian press: “I gave myself for 14 years… After each meal, the players and the staff came to congratulate me. When you’re a few months away from the climax, it hurts a lot. I am hugely disappointed. The worst part is the way…” This marks the fourth departure from the staff under Wilmots’ management.
