RB Leipzig are on the verge of securing the signature of Belgium international of Ivory Coast descent Johan Bakayoko in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old winger is joining the German Bundesliga outfit from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven on a transfer fee worth €18 million plus additional €4 million included as performance-related bonuses.
Bakayoko will arrive in Germany on Tuesday to undergo his mandatory medical test before putting pen to paper. He is expected to sign a contract that will keep him Leipzig until the summer of 2030.
The enterprising winger is a product of the Dutch powerhouse’s academy. However, his imminent move to the German outfit marks the first major transfer of his professional career.
During his time with PSV’s senior squad, Johan played 131 matches, scoring 33 goals and providing 22 assists.
Since making debut for the Belgium national team in 2023. Bakayoko has made 18 appearances, scoring just a goal in the process.
