Belgian forward of Ivorian descent Johan Bakayoko has completed his move to German club RB Leipzig.
The German Bundesliga outfit announced the signing of the attacker from Dutch outfit PSV on Wednesday, July 16.
“RB Leipzig has signed Belgian international Johan Bakayoko. The 22-year-old attacker joins from top Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and signs a long-term contract with the Red Bulls until June 30, 2030. He will wear the number 9 for RBL,” the German club announced.
The youngster came through the youth academies of renowned Belgian clubs, such as RSC Anderlecht and Club Brugge, before joining PSV’s youth academy in 2019.
Three years later, at the age of 18, the left-footer made his professional debut for the Dutch champions and scored ten points in 23 games in his first Eredivisie season.
He has now moved to RB Leipzig, where he will be playing a key role for the side in the upcoming football season.
Bakayoko chose RB Leipzig despite interest from several European clubs.
