Belgium international of Congolese descent Vincent Kompany has turned his attention to the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup following Bayern Munich’s elimination from the Champions League campaign.
The German giants bowed out of the Champions League after falling short to Inter Milan in the quarterfinals.
Despite holding Milan to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday night, Bayern Munich suffered elimination 4-3 on aggregate.
“Football is about the details. When you look at the way things went in both legs, we couldn’t have asked for much different except for the goals we conceded.”
He added: “We knew how strong Inter were going forward and how good they were from set pieces, but we also created danger and had our chances.”
“We won’t play the Champions League final in Munich, but in five months there will be another Champions League and many more matches in Munich. That’s football and life,”
