Belgian-Congolese Lukebakio rejected Al-Nassr’s €45m January offer to stay at Sevilla

Sevilla midfielder Dodi Lukebakio has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, opting to remain with his current team for the time being.

The Saudi Pro League side was willing to trigger Lukebakio’s €45 million buyout clause and had proposed a three-year contract worth €25 million to the player.

However, the 24-year-old, who was born in Belgium to parents of Congolese descent, chose to stay at Sevilla despite the tempting financial incentives.

Lukebakio’s decision comes as he continues to play a pivotal role for Sevilla this season, having emerged as one of the club’s top scorers with nine goals in La Liga.

His performances have been crucial in helping the team navigate through a challenging campaign.

The midfielder’s commitment to Sevilla indicates his desire to contribute further to the club’s ambitions rather than pursuing a potentially lucrative but less competitive opportunity in Saudi Arabia.

Despite rejecting the January move, Lukebakio’s future remains uncertain as he approaches the final 18 months of his contract.

Speculation is rife that he may be sold during the summer transfer window if Sevilla cannot secure an extension.

The club will need to make strategic decisions regarding their roster as they aim to strengthen their position in La Liga.
